TRIO radio system implementation for EDS
In cooperation with Schneider Electric, we are implementing a digital radio communication network for EDS, enabling reliable data transmission and efficient management of the power distribution system.

Project Insights
In the energy sector, the TRIO Radio deployment project for Elektroistribucija Srbije (EDS) is being implemented in cooperation with Schneider Electric across several hundred locations throughout Serbia. The project includes large-scaledeployment of radio communication infrastructure, as well as integration of radio relay links, Ceragon radio equipment, and CommScope antenna systems.
Radio networks play a critical role in modern communication systems for monitoring and controlling distribution networks, enabling reliable data collection and transmission from the field to central SCADA systems.
Solution
The project covers the full implementation process – from site surveys and frequency planning to the design and deployment of radio communication infrastructure. Activities include radio link calculations (terrain analysis, antenna heights, diffraction and multipath effects), infrastructure design (telecommunications, power supply, and civil works), and preparation of technical documentation and as-built designs.
Implementation includes installation and configuration of TRIO Radio devices, including TRIO Q and Data Radios solutions, integration into control cabinets, connection to power supply and SCADA systems, andon-site functional testing. Depending on terrain conditions, both omnidirectional and directional (Yagi) antenna systems are used.
Project Summary
The implemented solution ensures stable, secure, and highly available communication within the distribution network, improving the efficiency of remote monitoring and control of energy systems. The project significantly contributes to the modernization of Serbia’s power distribution infrastructure and supports the development of smart grid systems.
