Safe City Belgrade – smart video surveillance implementation

Project Insights
As part of the HW Safe City project (Huawei), we participated in the implementation of an advanced CCTV system across the city of Belgrade, aimed at enhancing public safety infrastructure and urban surveillance. The project was delivered on a turnkey basis and included the construction of a complete FTTx network infrastructure to support high-quality real-time video transmission.

Solution
The project included the deployment of optical access networks, fiber optic cable installation and termination, construction of network connections, and integration with the CCTV system. More than 200 km of optical routes were built to support over 800 camera locations, as well as specialized communication needs of security services. A strong focus was placed on ensuring high reliability, scalability, and system stability in demanding urban environments.

Project Summary
The implemented solution enabled the establishment of a centralized and intelligent video surveillance system, improving city security management, enabling faster response of authorities, and increasing overall public safety. The project represents a major step in modernizing Belgrade’s public security infrastructure and lays the foundation for further development of the Safe City concept, including advanced analytics and smart video technologies.
